Huckabee is *very* bad news
My friend (and ex-colleague over at the Dark Christian LJ - which is mirrored on IJ here) Dogemperor has found out just how deep Huckabee's ties are to Dominionist Xtianity.

No surprise that Huckabee is very involved with the fuckers.
Specifically, he's actually a member of perhaps the worst of the 'armed-xtian-revolt-against-all-sin-and-beat-kids-with-sticks-until-they-shut-up-or-die' tendency.

This man would make the Bush presidency look like Jimmy fucking Carter. He's more inclined to hit the Big Red Button to bring the Rapture than even W is. Beware.

Actually, it's not a strict mirror. Both communities now have some activity, and not all posts from either will be found on both. Indeed, the post in question didn't get here to IJ. I later posted a link to it in the local community.

Cheers for that. I was still thinking IJ-DC was a straight mirror - and occasionally wondering if things had gone oddly quiet!

So if I get anything tasty, I should post to the IJ version? Or rejoin at LJ?

Either or both, as you wish. I tend to share to both, since there are unique sets of readers at each. I believe that the more people who know about these things, the better we all will be.

Oh, and for what it's worth, things have gone relatively quiet over on LJ-DC. Seldom more than one or two posts in a day, and many times none. I think the policy changes over there harmed the community. It's still moderated post, for example.

Hate to say I told you so...

Nuff said. No point in going into that any further.

Hence why we have multiple communities--especially with rumours of a *third* strikeout beginning on LJ and with GreatestJournal dying, expect more folks on the IJ comm.

And thanks for promoting the post on here--I think this is the most commentary I've had in quite a while on a post (and definitely the quickest that it's rocketed to "recommended" on DailyKos).

I also linked to the piece at Whitechapel (http://www.freakangels.com/whitechapel/) - a discussion board set up by UK comic writer Warren Ellis. It's an eclectic bunch and sees quite a lot of traffic - and there's already been one respondent who was on the point of supporting/at least condoning Huckabee who's been quite put off the man by your article.
In short, the word is spreading. Hope it'll be enough.

...my article has been linked to in Warren Ellis' blog.

My article has been linked to in Warren fucking Ellis' blog.

Thank you. :D (Seriously, I respect the hell out of Ellis, so this *is* a deep honour.)

Ellis is the kind of bloke who pays serious attention to the world. That's why I like his books. That's why I linked your work there.

You should hang out on Whitechapel - very cool site. Plus grinding.be (spinoff from his Doktor Sleepless book), as both are very concerned with finding 'outbreaks of the future' and disseminating them.
