Meme time - The soundtrack of my life
From my old pal Wag, this meme:

(I note the American slant - we don't have prom here and so on - but still fun)

If your life were a movie, what would the soundtrack be?

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...

1. Opening Credits:
Temptation, Tom Waits
(Good weird sound to it, kinda opening-credity...)

2. Waking Up:
Hellraiser - Box Theme, Coil
(Apt, for a given value of 'waking up'.)

3. First Day At School:
Guitar Town, Once Upon A Time in Mexico Original Soundtrack (Robert Rodriguez)
(Sounds like walking into a battle zone - yep, that fits.)

4. Falling In Love:
Tank Graveyard, Everything Is Illuminated s/track
(Eugene Hutz)
(Perhaps the least apt of titles, but the melancholy fits for remembering That First Time)

5. Fight Song:
Let's Spend the Night Together, The Rolling Stones
(I'm a lover, not a fighter...)

6. Breaking Up:
Do What You Wanna Do, Lords of Acid
('nuff said.)

7. Prom:
Ondas do mar de vigo (Cantigas de Amigo), Sinfonye
(Exquisite version of a 14th Century Troubador song - fits the formal romance aspect I guess.)

8. Life: Security Off, Ghost In The Shell Standalone Complex s/track (Yoko Katto)

9. Mental Breakdown:
Token Celtic Drinking Song, The Pogues
(Hah! So far off base it's silly. Great song though.)

10. Driving:
Storm 3000, Leftfield
(Since I don't drive, it's moot - but a pretty good track for night-time car trips in a cityscape.)

11. Flashback:
Overnight Sleeper, Steve Hackett
(Has a certain nightmarish quality at the start but resolves into grooviness. Hmm...)

12. Getting back together:
The Promise of Shadows, Last Temptation of Christ s/track
(Peter Gabriel)
(The idea of reconciling with either my first two girlfriends is more threat than promise - and the third is very happily married, so...)

13. Losing your Virginity:
Touch Me I'm Sick, Mudhoney
(Whose idea of a joke was it putting this rite of passage - ahem - so far down the list?)
(Nice choice of song, mind you!)

14. Wedding:
Dancing Bare, Celtarabia
(Perfect.)
(Well, not the actual wedding - my wife and I were in black leather. But soon after...)

15. Birth of Child:
Suzanne, Leonard Cohen
(I'm a step-father, so I wasn't there. Still... really, really wrong call.)

16. Final Battle:
Open, Last Temptation s/track
(Actually, that works.)
(And NB - I draw no inferences from two tracks on the list coming from a film about Jesus...)

17. Funeral Song:
Veracruz, Warren Zevon
(A good funeral song, sure. Just not mine.)

18. End Credits:
Delivery, Fargo Soundtrack (Carter Burwell)
(Creepy choice, sound-wise. Leaves the audience shivering a little as they leave, but rewards those who stay and watch the credits like a good person does. Yep, that'll do.)
(Though the track which followed - see 'Music' tag - is better!)
